I really enjoyed this book but it's not for everyone. It's not a fast-moving story it's more about creating a feeling and also provoking thought. In the case the main question asked has to do with the nature of love and life. If you're into the aesthetic and philosophical possibilities of novels then check it out.
If I like watching NFL games (mostly while doing other stuff like cleaning house) and think Bullet Train movie was just OK -- am I allowed to read this book? I did read Paul Theroux's Under the Wave at Waimea recently all the way to the end, and was unimpressed.
