**STILL LIVE AS OF 3/3/23!!!** Onkyo TX-RZ50 9.2-Channel Dirac THX Certified AV Receiver CALL IN SPECIAL $1299 - LIMITED INVENTORY!!

So, I needed to replace a very old Receiver and was able to get the Onkyo Tx-Rz50 w/ Dirac Room Calibration for $1299 (MSRP is now $1599!). I find Dirac to be fantastic for my use case.

This is a call in only special and only for what limited "in stock units" they have at the special $1299 price, after that they are $1599. Hate that the companies like Denon, Onkyo , etc keep raising prices on the higher end receivers. Thought I would share this for anyone who is looking to pick up a real good Rz50 at a good price point.

Call Jeff directly at Av Science(Authorized dealer w/ a good reputation) at (303) 919-5775 & make sure to tell him you want the "Call in Special for $1299" on the Onkyo RZ50 receiver.

Cost is $1299 + Free Shipping and No tax for most(but that is YMMV) also they do not charge your CC until they ship it out and of course you get the full 3 year factory warranty on the Rz-50. Applause

Hope this can save at least a few people on here some $$$ on this receiver until they sell out. As a side note, I have purchased a few things from Jeff(Av Science) over the past year and always great prices and very professional.

**************UPDATE----- STILL LIVE AS OF 3/3/23 for $1299(Onkyo Dealer Special sale Call in valid until 3/31) (5) in stock!!

Might want to do some more research before buying an onkyo, things have changed with the company… I have had a Onkyo tx-nr656 for a number of years and liked it and the fairly frequent firmware updates. Recently my surround and rear channels would stop outputting and some times if you turned it off and then back on they'd click back in. Calling around I found out you can't get the hdmi board that is normally the issue. Researching online some of the later onkyos have a chip problem for the audio over time, and the feedback from the repair companies on on brands was that I should stay away from pioneer and Onkyo which used to be good but have changed. Yamaha and Denon were good choices. Granted that these are opinions so take it with a grain of salt.

The hdmi problem was fixed 2 years ago. Here are 273 pages of reading about how great this receiver is:

Best receiver of the year. You can't find dirac live in a receiver that controls up to 11 channels (with amp) for anywhere near this price. I run my RZ50 with an emotiva 5 channel amp for the L C R and rear surrounds. I am coming from and old onkyo 5.1 receiver and I absolutely love my movie room now.

To the OP: you shouldn't get mad at the companies that raise their prices. They have to do this to stay in business. You should get mad at your government and the policies they've been implementing.

I agree, thou these were about $150 less just a few months ago and the companies are getting greedy, prices will never go down again uless people stop buying these at this price and supply overtakes demand considerable. Now they are all blaming "inflation" instead of Parts shortages w/ Denon having the most "price increases" in the past year..... For my open room that I am using this in, only Dirac can really "Nail" it as far as dialing it all in. I wish thou it did have the full Dirac Bass module but we can;t have it all at this price point! lol

I honestly do not think the Rz-50 has some of those same issues that the previous models did at least I have not seen anything by other owners on the forums.

I think I saw that some folks pre-ordered this July 2021 and didn't get until November 2021, so it sounds like a fairly new receiver. I'm not knocking the receiver, just saying that the company isn't the same as it used to be from a support standpoint and that was reflected in the repair center's advice, which it may be years before models start to show longevity issues. My comment was an fyi and not a condemning review, lol.

Why? Is there something on the Rz-50 we don't know about? Love the full pre-outs & the Dirac but do wish it had independent sub output calibration but that can be done by other means if needed for someones specific use case for it.

Has Onkyo/Pioneer raised MSRPs on their receivers recently? I got a VSX-LX305 from Woot a few months ago for $839, and I thought the MSRP was $1199. Now MSRP appears to be $1399, making the Woot deal even hotter.

Agree how crazy mid-high end receiver prices have gotten. This one's too much beast for me (even the 305 is overkill for me but couldn't pass up the price), but could be a good deal for those that need it.

I have 4 Onkyo receivers and no issues with any. With that having being said. What is the purpose of a warranty for a company that doesn't exist anymore. Onkyo went out of business three years ago. Pioneer bought them but never released any new models with the Onkyo branding.
