Not every movie can have cars that turn to robots, vampires or warewolves in them champ
This is a love fantasy masquerading as an action-drama.

One notable scene cut from the original script showed leon and matilda explicitly having sex in which leon cries because of how 'beautiful' it is. Jean Reno's stated on the record that he made the choice to play Leon as a bit 'simple' to tone down some of the more overt sexual undertones and help the character come across more sympathetic.

The entire story of a 12 year old falling in love with a much older man is mirrored by the director's own life according to the woman he knocked up when she was 16 (he was 33). Apparently they also met when she was 12 and started dating shortly after.

Fun fact she played the blue alien opera singer in the 5th element and during that production he ended up leaving her for Milla Jovovich.

Used to be one of my favorite films but it's now a borderline impossible watch - particularly the uncut international version - with the added context of the director's history and intent to romanticize a disturbingly inappropriate relationship.

The more you know.
What do you mean "Everyone"?.....

A couple of disturbing scenes but overall a great movie if you've never seen it.

Which ones did you find disturbing? (I would assume the one with the family as one)

Certain scenes were removed involving Leon/Matilda. I suggest you google the stories that were removed and see the arguments made.

I'm familiar. I was asking them specifically which scenes they thought or were referring to.
