I almost completed checkout twice but decided to pass. The value is definitely there, I can stomach the half serrations and the tanto blade but the giant "Strike Fighter" written across the side was the final nail. I'm sure it's a great tool but looks like it was designed by a kid inspired by a video game.

No ego, I just have a lot of knives. I'd rather buy and use one that I enjoy. This would never make my rotation for package opening duties

I'll be using mine on cardboard boxes from Amazon deliveries, taking it anywhere would be a misdemeanor. Pretty sure I can't use it in self defense either unless I'm battling a grizzly or coyote

Yeah ironically enough 154cm is actually stainless steel while d2 is not (although it's some would call it semi stainless). D2 is harder though and retains an edge better.
Neither one is particularly great above 60-61 Rc. 154CM has a slight edge in toughness, though neither are tough. Takes a high austenizing temp and sub 300 temper to get D2 to a higher hardness, and that doesn't help with the low impact resistance. CATRA results are close to identical at similar hardness and edge angle. So edge retention is about the same and choosing between the two steels on that metric is completely overwhelmed by just changing the sharpening angle slightly.

Basically switchable sale is restricted via feds for interstate commerce. You can't ship them usps if it's to a consumer but can via other carriers I believe.

I remember when I was a kid switchblades were impossible to find. Now they are everywhere.

Do they sell any quality OTF switchblades now?

Yes they do... Microtech, protech, benchmade, pirahna, and several others. There are thousands of choices... I would personally skip the MSRP of <$100, except the lightening, that one is a fun fidget toy for like $30 which is nice. https://www.bladehq.com/cat--Out-...r_page=100

Thanks for the tip, the link was broken, and I couldn't find any OTF named lightning (def not in range of $30). I just bought some fakes on DHGate to find the right feel before I drop a couple hundred.

Looks like the BM Infidel is a favorite.

Sorry, I totally missed this reply! The lightning OTFs are now sold on Grindworx.com, a company started by BladeHQ that focuses on value knives vs. bhq's main website where there are many knives in the several hundreds or even thousands of dollars price points. Here is the lightning list: https://www.grindworx.com/cat--Li...g-OTF--170

I am thinking that Grindworx knives are probably just a bunch of models bought from Chinese manufacturers similar to DHGate, excepting they don't sell the obvious ripoffs (eg fake Microtechs that look the same and even have the branding and packaging that says Microtech, but they don't even come close in the actual quality, eg pot metal for the scales instead of aluminum or titanium, and definitely no super steels for the blades regardless of what the advertising says).

Also, I got this OKC in today, and definitely pleased, this knife is definitely worth the $42 (or even more, I would have been fine if I paid <$100 for this). I hate the marketing billboard aesthetic of the blade, but who really cares for this price. This thing is really well made and solid feeling, very nice auto action and thunking feels great on opening. It is a bit heavy for an EDC for a lot of people, but I don't mind the heft or size, it is actually a bit smaller than my fav EDC, although it is a bit heavier, and I know I am not the only one that is OK with chunky EDCs. I would put this on the same level of build quality as Microtech, Protech, or Benchmade autos I have (or have had), but a HELL of a lot cheaper! Definitely a much higher quality build than the AK autos from Boker (that are only between $30-$70 MSRP depending on model/size). I wouldn't normally pick tanto, or partial serration, but now I have a nice quality auto with these things that I wouldn't otherwise have in my collection (for the MSRP).

Received mine today. Agree, solid lock up and good blade spacing. Not bad for the price.
