Why would you need to pay MS365 if you are enrolling student. Most are provided by school and paid by your tuition.

But seems like a good deal if it allows people with edu email but not enrolling

.edu email address is all I needed to subscribe at the student rate. A verification email was sent to my email, and I just had to click the link in the email to verify.

this is correct, if your school used it already you get this, and can download the office suite on up to 5 computers. I'm not sure if having a school email that already has this would mess with this offer

This is a good deal even if you have office 365 free with the college. Some colleges are only giving like 5GB of online storage which is nothing.

I can't verify this because I haven't done it yet. But the interest here is that, your .edu email can verify you're a student then use this deal on any of your personal MS accounts.

Unless, it is really tied up to the .edu email, then this is MEH!

I was thinking this as well. Unless they got rid of it, EDU used to get free Microsoft Office.

Also to add, a typical 365 personal is $58.99 from Costco ( say $60). Where here you are looking at $36. So a decent $14 saved, not a whole lot but not bad.

hmmm.. buy a 15 months 6 user family pack from Costco for $90 and then it is $12 per year per user .. and it is not tied to your edu address...

each users data is private .... and each user gets private 1 tb space and each user gets their own office licenses...
