I've had this unit for several months. It's super basic and not that big but seems fine for one person given the price.

For a family is small. But for a single person like my daughter lives in dorm is perfect.

Bought this last year for the same price. It still works, though the switch that clicks when the tray is closed doesnt click anymore. I have to add a little cardboard wedge to the left corner and it works just fine. The Letters on the time dial are starting to dissapear. But using my phone as a timer does the trick. Still works really well. Great for a quick snack. Probably worth the $18.

Wish I have gotten this one instead of the 4 qt which is too big to store a tight space. 2 qt seems ideal unless you cook for more than one

I have a 6 quart, I'd say go with at least a 4-5 quart if cooking for 2 or more.

Won't take very long. Someone will yank the knob and break it.

I used mine for about a year before upgrading to a bigger one. The good is that the bottom surface area is large compared to its volume so more can be cooked at once (mono layer). The bad is that the knobs are slippery with wet or oily hands. The ugly is that the non-stick coating started to peel off after my first cleaning in the dishwasher but I still used thinking probably it wouldn't give me cancer.

Pretty basic considering that you can buy a pretty sophisticated 2qt for less than $50, sometimes way less when on sale. For those worried about the size, I own both a 2qt and a 5qt, but very sophisticated (lots of preprogrammed cooking modes) versions and use the 2qt for just myself and for myself and one guest.

I save the 5qt for larger items and when cooking for more than two (5-6). That said, as a teen I ate enough to probably require multiple batches from an 8qt. The key is single layers of any food that you want to crisp, and with space for air to circulate around everything.
