Don't just blindly look at selective benchmarks, but still here it shows that i7 beats i5 in most of them-

Now whether it's worth paying extra for depends on how much more it is and one's use case.

cpubenchmark is a reliable source and has been around for a very long time (benchmark based) while notebookcheck.net on the other hand is mostly spec sheet comparison and in the past had lots of hit/miss info
To say that the i7-1260P is "certainly" better than the i5-1240P is not so easy.

In certain aspects the i5 is better while the i7 is better in others.
I only posted the info so people are aware - it is not a night/day difference between the two, but more of a close competition.
Where there is a clear difference is the IGPU, i7 has better-integrated graphics (might be important for people who do editing/rendering)
TBH the comparison in this case does not even matter I just mentioned it so that people are aware - it is not like we have the option of customizing the laptop and have a price/performance difference...
Overall, while it might be more than I am willing to pay it seems like a decent package...
