ebay is under no obligation to abide by nuances of your state law. if you were overcharged for sale tax, there's a state remedy for that, right?

just curious, when you noticed you were being overcharged for sales tax, why did you go ahead and complete the purchase anyway?

You don't ever waste time on these level one reps. You go straight to the supervisor. And even some of those are morons, so u open a complaint on BBB. Between steps 2 and 3, usually someone will get it unless it's a buyer MBG issue.

For some reason I don't think u can add coupon to a seller offer you have to accept price and maybe on payment page there is the ebay bucks/coupon code but honestly I don't remember it being there like a normal purchase or you can ask them to refund you the difference if they'd be willing to do that but I'd ask before I made purchase if that's your determining factor I've had a few good experiences with sellers and many crappy ones
