Bought this like a week ago from the last sd. Beads are contained in pockets throughout the blanket

Fwiw I was pleasantly suprised that it comes with a removable duvet as well.

So for anyone thinking of buying this, it is not very effective as a standard weighted blanket. I bought this, I have it on my bed right now.

Most weighted blankets have small pockets sewn in to hold the beads in a small area, like 4x4 squares. The sewn in areas for this blanket are large, like 12 inches across. This means the beads will not stay on you but do instead roll off of you and onto the bed. This is why you see people who have it say that the weight is on the bed, and not on you, even though you can see the sewn in pockets.

It is a nice heavy blanket, but it will not give the same compression effect that a regular weighted one will give. I still like mine because it does give a small effect for me because of how I sleep, but when i really want the feeling i still use my wifes much lighter 12 lbs blanket for the effect.

In general I would recommend buying a lower weight. I'm 6'1" and an athletic 165 pounds, and my 60" x 80" blanket weighing 18lbs is too heavy.

I like the weight itself, but if you turn at all when sleeping it may hurt your back/shoulders/hips over time. I mostly sleep on my back but turn a few times in the morning and occasionally wake up feeling like I hurt something.

Maybe I'm just sensitive but this is coming from someone age 30 who's regularly weightlifting, running/rowing, and stretching- hopefully this helps someone avoid my mistake.

Instead getting lighter blanket, gain weight like rest of us. Applause

They don't necessarily need to be even though other commentors say they actually are.

These can work even if they just hold a person in place.

The weight, even if it did fall to the side, will still keep the blanket pressing you into the bed which is what you want.

Just tired a 10 lbs one from Amazon. 10lb is ideal for regular adult. The 20 lbs will be too much.

I bought when this was available. I love it and I should have bought 2 or 3. I'm keeping my eyes open for the next round. Thanks OP!
