Old tech is also a bit of a stretch. What more do new Alpha cameras offer that this doesn't? Strap it to a solid lens and this is just as capable as any "new camera" out there. If you want 10bit and "higher end specs", that also comes with higher end prices that a lot of people, including myself as aren't looking to pay.
I almost went with the A7iii but went with this one as the built in gyro data will come in handy for the video work I also got this for.
I've been using it with a Sigma 50mm 1.4 lens and my photos look no different from those coming out of my cousin's Alpha a7IV. These aren't computer graphics cards, "new tech" rarely makes much of a real world difference.

I'm still getting used to it. It's a bit more complicated than my a6000 (which broke and this replaced). But I like that it is similar in some ways to the APSC line (smaller body, eyepiece closer to the corner).
I'm OK with the $100 more I paid, though. I got a lot of use with it over the last month (during a break from school).
The PM'd a lens discount for me that BuyDig had for cheaper (with BuyDig's EDU discount).

Oh cmon that's a major exaggeration. I bet if I showed 2 videos side by side, 95% of the population would not tell the difference.
But getting back to the discussion, we are talking about iii vs 7c, not iv.

If you are looking at this camera you want video and still capabilities. Kinda silly to suggest an aps-c camera for more money than this full frame camera. I was just replying to iii vs 7c, which is pretty even in stills, but 7c has newer features for video than iii.
