I would caution against leaning wood against the wall if not using the strength of the 2x6 studs. Otherwise you're leaning it directly on the sheathing on the outside which could cause significant issues.

This posted for $49 is not slick in the least - it's an advertisement.
For a fully wall-mounted install, this unit holds a reliable amount of weight. I used these for actual shelves that are fully loaded with tools and hardware approaching the weight rating.
Mine are installed into block, but it should go without saying, it's critical that you mount these properly into wood stud or something structurally sound. Having a tree's worth of wood up there is a lot of potential energy.
I also agree that they're great shelves but it's worth considering if you want all 6 shelves or if you can go with the 4-shelf model. The 6-shelf model is 41" tall and you're going to want to leave room above it to use the top shelf, so this thing is coming down from the ceiling 4 feet. If you have short ceilings like me then the 4-shelf model may not get in the way as much. I'm actually planning on cutting mine in half to get two 3-shelf versions...
