I ordered this luggage before the thread was posted because I think it is a good deal. The luggage seems pretty sturdy and the weight is 10.3lbs. I actually weighed it myself using the travel scale, pretty light for it size. I've used few Samsonite and I never have any problem with it, so hopefully this one will last. The color doesn't look as bad as the picture, I was kind of concern about the color before I bought too.
Download Keepa to show the price history on things like this. It is not really that much of a slickdeal it was $123 a bit ago and normally goes for $145ish.
Would love some inputs before buying. Currently looking for a 28". Tia
Couple of years back i bought the same model but 2 piece set. Used it for couple of domestic travel and one international travel. Still holds strong with minor scratches on the surface.

While you're right it's not TOO heavy, a lot of airlines are going to 40lbs for checked bags. This comes in at over 25% of your allowed weight. Pretty big percentage if you're not a frequent traveler and weight means more than durability. Just another side of the coin.

Yes, I agree, the luggage is big if the airline reduce to 40lbs. But the problem is if you go with medium size luggage it's too small to pack clothes if you go on vacation with kids. I wish there is a middle size luggage between medium and large size.

Luggage has steadily increased in pricing due to "luxury" brands like Away setting a new bar for what people are willing to pay, and overall inflation.
Before I bought my last bag, I was seriously looking at this bag in the 20" size. Would routinely see it for $60 on sale (feel free to search the SD archives).
Now, I need another bag, and wanted to pick this one up, but it's suddenly $120+ and have yet to see it on sale in the last year.
Even my local Marshalls/TJ Maxx, which used to sell their off-brand rollers for $60-70 are now listing the same bags for $100+
So Keepa will show that it's been lower, but these bags are unlikely to get down to pre-2020 pricing again.

P2 just bought this and took it on a ten day trip. We like the durable exterior on the Omni line. I have one in 24" that is as tough as a tank. Tote it on many trips to NYC rolling down sidewalks and taking subways.
My 28" has been a Winfield 2 though. United cracked it on a recent flight, and I'm eyeing a replacement.
Definitely like the solid plastic wheels on both. The newer Winfield has these thinner dual wheels that I don't put much faith in for rolling long distances.
I really want this, but I'm gonna hold out and see if the Winfield 2 comes back at all.

Bought one in 2018 so far . Traveled international 8 time domestic 6. The only issue I had is the the top handle broke off after 4 trips . I had to find screw, hex nut , washer . Black sharpie and put it back together . So still running strong .

For domestic
If you need something this large you're likely going International and the baggage weights are higher due to international flight laws
11 lbs isn't too bad, most soft-side luggage is still 8lbs
We were lucky 5 years ago to score a Ricardo 3 piece (20/24/28) hardside set for $00 on clearance at Costco The 28" is 12 lb but the wheels are top notch. Most of the time we use the smaller 24" at 9 lbs.

The last deal for a set was for ~190 for 20/24/28 pieces. Still on backorder!

The one thing I dislike about the Omni compared to the Winfield 2 is that the zipper side is just a mesh on the Omni [cnn.com]whereas it's a full and pocketed piece on the Winfield [shopify.com]. Also, the strap on the open side is much sturdier on the Winfield.
