Keep in mind li-ion batteries cannot be charged below freezing, or around 32 deg F. So even if its's a bright sunny day, it won't charge, or damaged the battery is charged.

I bought this at the same price couple months back. It's bright for being a solar operated light. Battery will last roughly about 1.5 hours of constant use/on. I installed this on my back patio which is too far from any electrical outlet. For $14, I think it's worth it so far.

Bought these last time they were on sale and they're holding up great. Even with indirect sunlight, I haven't had an instance where the battery is depleted (it's set for a 30 second turn off unless more motion is detected, then it stays on).

My only gripe is the unit has a pass-through out the back for the solar panel cable (makes the wire completely invisible) that's really hard to get out and the entire case is glued together, so there's no taking it apart easily.

I don't know that I have this one in particular, but my last cheap one lasted less than 6 months before it stopped working completely. At $15 each I guess they are disposable. Loved it while it worked though. Lit up my entire side yard that has no access to power currently to install a proper light.

Hykolity... The brand that never lets you forget that Slickdeals has staff sponsored posts

In all seriousness, this product gets an "A" on fakespot and according to camelsx3, it is regularly priced at $40 (but price tracking data only goes back less that 4 weeks which is strange since there are reviews that are a couple of years old).

I don't have this specific pretty yet but I have had many many of these cheap made solar lights. I still prefer them over something expensive. Over the last 4 years, I've maybe didn't $100 stocking up on random Slickdeals for solar lights and have them lining my entire backyard fence as well as around the perimeter of my house. Probably half of them have failed but we are talking about a very small investment for something that is extremely easy to install and there is no maintenance. I've used outdoor, heavy duty 3M adhesive tape to put them on my vinyl fencing, brick facing of my garage, and metal eaves. Only one has fallen of maybe 30 I put up. I used Clorox wipes to clean the area well before mounting and it works great.

A lot of people like to bash these and I understand why. I really do get it. However, their installation simplicity and low cost makes them an easy investment for me to recommend. I'll be picking one of these up.

Thanks, OP. Enjoy that commission. You earned it
3xcamel doesn't track products until they reach a certain popularity level i think, I follow some esoteric stuff like structured media enclosure accessories for my slow basement build out and the pricing data only goes back to when I started tracking the products but they definitely were sold well before that.

Did you mount it without silicone sealant?

These are hot glued together, but they still benefit from silicone.

They also recommend letting it charge for up to a week before turning it on, depending on your available sunlight.

Edit: Looks like the coupon is back (50%), but none of the codes appear to be working. Net result = $29.99 - 50% = 14.99 plus tax - not bad - Thanks Op!

Exactly what you said but my 2 units also trigger the lights 1-2 hours early before sun sun set and sun rise.

Most of tesla cars are being made in China and if not the cars themselves the batteries are. waste of time being an internet troll something is crap just cause it is made in China.
Weird comment to add to a discussion about this product. While I agree with the message, the fact is that Tesla has Made in China cars for China and rest of Asia. The ones sold in US are fully made in the US in factories in California and Texas. It is literally the most American-made car that anyone can buy. They are not even getting parts from China or using Mexico/Canada for assembly.

That said, agree with your point that it is stupid to live in 2022 and say that Chinese made stuff is crap. The iPhone, Air pods, etc. are made entirely in China, as an example, that every other person in the US adores.

YMMV? I bought this one of the last times it came around and returned it. I unboxed in the garage and placed the solar panel by a North facing window so it got decent sun for the whole day. The first night it worked great, coming on every time I walked into the garage. The second night, the motion detector stopped working, and i had to manually reset the light to get it work. Happened again and that's when I boxed it up for returns.

Good point, but on the flip side no non lithium type batteries hold up in the cold weather either. So whats the solution?

Vendors "Game" the system by selling a product that does get good reviews and then at a later date updating that page with a new version that may or may not be as good of a product.
The reviews all stay on the page, the star rating stays, the fakespot rating stays, the only thing that does not stay with the old is the 3xcamel because it goes off of the ASIN number and that is changed when the product is updated. This explains why 3xcamel only has a few weeks of tracking while everything else shows an older product.

You can scroll down on the amazon page and see when the product was first available to see when that ASIN was added.

I have similar style (not this brand) lights and they charge just fine in sub freezing temperatures, or the batteries are large enough that they stay charged between the sub freezing temps. This is in PA where we have summer, sunny winter, cold winter, and windy winter.
