Weight and compressed size.. synthetic is usually 0.5(kids)-2lb(long adult) heavier.
It's big difference for backpacker

True, but what's the point of down (vs. a synthetic of the same temp rating)? Slightly more compressible?

Weird down only saves 4oz. I went with poly since it can take more abuse and will last longer.

Its a roomier bag according to its dimensions and also has 50 denier lining so its a tough shell around the down. All of that adds to the weight.

Why the need to advertise stuff as recycled? I dont see that and think "oHHhh recycled materials" and it make me more likely to buy something. Its not title worthy.
Just because you might not be the target audience doesn't mean its not title worthy. If you are values based shopper, like many people who prioritize REI are, then its a meaningful differentiator. Even just reading the reviews its brought up a few times

Actually ended up getting the down. Wish it was 20F rated instead but we'll see how it goes.

Camping newbie here: Kids size length is 66"(5'6). As a 5'5 adult, will this be a proper fit?

Newbie here. My sons In The boys scouts and they asked him to upgrade his sleeping bad to something lighter and warmer. He just has a $30 one from Walmart that says 35 degree on it. It was 40 degrees this last camping and he said it was really cold. Would this help him, he is 11, around 5 ft tall.

Is the synthetic one washable. I bought the co op membership this past week when I bought his some clothes for his camping.

In which state will your son do most of his camping? This will be warmer than what he has. Whether it's warm enough depends on how cold it will get. This should do well in 40deg Fahrenheit.
