If you are a parent and you are tired of your kid's cheap school chrome books that they keep dropping, this would work really well at a dedicated desk.

CPU is nothing special, but is reasonably faster than something like an N4020:

RAM might be upgradeable to 16 GB, in stark contrast to all Chromebooks, but it may be hard to access the internals so YMMV:

The price is not right. Maybe if it was closer to $200 and had a better CPU.

Key feature here really is in the display. It is a 21 inch rotating and tilting touchscreen with autorotate and the base has a rather good speaker setup, it is a pretty high quality product.

I use this on my dining room side table (don't judge) because it's the only all-in-one unit with a screen big enough and a good speaker to run the TiVo app without a ton of extra bulk/cords. It performs like a very slow tablet and the TiVo/Netflix apps crash regularly. Prior to this, I used the Samsung galaxy view and view 2 which never crashed. I live with the crashing apps because the screen is bigger and the speakers are better.

Solid for its price, chromebooks are designed to run on "low end" hardware so this thing will run like a champ for most people. I'm a PC head myself who briefly worked selling these for a year and was surprised how well they ran with 4gb of ram and low end processors.

A touchscreen on a desktop computer is an interesting choice.

Imo You're better off buying a cheap PC or laptop, and installing Chrome Flex on it. It works great, especially on older machines. What no one mentions often is how secure Chrome OS is, assuming you don't enable Android apps

I wish they would design these with a video input so that it could also be used as a screen for another device.

You lose the security with installing Flex on generic x86 hardware. No verified boot. And Android apps on native ChromeOS are not a security issue as Android runs as isolated VM under ChromeOS.

Wish it was the Core i3 version, as I've been eyeing that one for a while to replace my aging PC desktop.
