That said, I have an Anova sous vide that works great and was well engineered, so I expect Anova put some effort into designing this vacuum sealer. It has a couple of features that my Foodsaver doesn't. According to Anova it can do 100 sealings continuously without having to let the sealing bar cool off! That's a big deal if you're processing a lot of food. The sealing bar also makes a double seal, which is what I have to do manually.
I looked it up on Amazon and while overall it rates good when I sorted the reviews by most recent the last 6-8months months of reviews are overwhelming negative.
I'm wondering if they changed the design recently or something and it doesn't work as well anymore.
I want to buy a food saver for my mom for Christmas, I need a really good one. Any other recommendations?
I've learned to take amazon reviews with a grain of salt on anything that's harder to use than a screwdriver. User errors or unrealistic expectations seems common to me.

I like that it has double seal compare to my brother's single seal so less prone to leaking. I did 5 or 6 seals back to back and didn't feel like it was burning or overheating.
The vac and seal works as good as any other Sealer. I once was too stingy with bag length and a bit of meat juice went into the vacuum chamber but it all just dripped down into the hole. A quick wipe and it was clean. I haven't tried the other functions yet but overall I think it's a great product. It is a bit on the bulky side so I have to put it away when not in use. Wish there was an option to not have intrigued bag storage on the device like the non pro model but that one is missing a lot of features.
Hopefully, they will process the order ASAP.
