Seems like a good value for people who want an iPad but don't want/need the features of the $449 10th gen.

I'm just wondering if the price will drop a little more in the next few weeks.

Historically, the best price (exclu. military sales) for the 7th-9th gen. iPad base model is $250. It hasn't been that in a while due to pandemic pricing. I would consider that the best case scenario, so we're really talking just $10 less.

The new iPad $449 price is truly pathetic, so you're probably looking at something around $400 for Black Friday. It's also sad that there is no cost-effective 128GB model for consumers. Apple is king of consumer electronics profiteering. Applause

Apple really are!

That said, nothing comes close to this iPad in quality for the price despite the low storage amount.

I am disappointed the gen 10 iPad still doesn't have Face ID. I know the reason - the camera required for face recognition is expensive, so it isn't likely to show up in entry level tablets. But Touch ID has never worked for me. I guess my fingers are defective.

So now trying to decide between a gen 9 for $260 or gen 10 for $400-$440. I used iPad strictly as a content consumption device so either would do. No use for pencil technology.
I'd like to get a pen, but $100? Even on sale it is $70?

Ridiculous pricing!!!

Get 9th gen and cheap apple pencil from Ali which cost less than $20. Myself and kids are very satisfied with them.

Product segmentation. It's horrible, but that's what happens when they got the upper hand! Business is too good.

Apple knows that there are people out there that dont care about the prices and they're still willing to buy the latest and the greatest models of Apple products.
