Be careful with these. We just got rid of 2000+ of these at work (yes for an upgrade) because the battery kept expanding. These machines are really trash.

huh, interesting! I've had one for about 3 years and just recently had to replace my battery due to it expanding, so add +1 to the list

2 expansion slots for DDR4 RAM. Should be able to go up to 64GB.

1 PCIe/SATA 2280 slot (NVMe or mSATA drive), 1 PCIe 2230 slot (NVMe drive or WWAN card).

Not a huge difference between i5 and i7 processors. Recommend to buy the base FHD model and upgrade RAM & storage yourself.

I'm using this at work right now with a bloated battery, lol. The other problem is that the USB-C port can go bad, but I imagine the average home user isn't plugging and unplugging into a dock every day.

Similar experience; we had a quite a few of these that had tons of issues. Mainly they wouldn't charge, wouldn't turn on. . . So we moved on to another brand.

My wife had one of these from her company as well and had to change it out because of issues with the usb-c charging port. Thought it was the dock originally but two docks later, that did nothing. Really odd issue considering that the laptop was rarely unplugged.

Eventually changed to a thinkpad t490. Been fine since March 2020.

The Latitude 7490 competing model is ThinkPad t480. (t490 competes with Latitude 7400) I think Lenovo refurb of that generation is a little bit more expensive (by $40 but hard to say because most are sold through eBay). Especially if these Latitude are grade "A".
