Yeah these are very annoying to use. Mine like this has made it out of all my tool bags. Could maybe be used for quick small cuts but I'd rather pick up a folding pocket utility from lowes or HD for a couple bucks more

A couple reviews say you have to hold the button the entire time you cut - so the blade retracts as soon as you let go of the button.
I was initially thinking this was like the ones I used at work where the blade would stay extended while it was in, say, cardboard but would retract as soon as it came out of the cardboard.
This is great for opening boxes really quick but for extended use of cutting something its pretty much useless. Have owned this exact model for a couple of tears now.
Do not buy this. I have it and basically it's only useful for Amazon boxes. It retracts back if you try to cut anything. You can't even lock it in place so you can make controlled, shallow cuts.
