My 6 year old struggles to launch the cars when they utilize the hammer type. Like the one that comes with the large triple Loop-De-Loop. If he does hit it hard enough, the track wobbles a bit ensuring a failed attempt by going off the track.
When I saw the commercial of a push down lever that generates strong speed, I was all in. After getting it, we started to try out the car grabber. I have to disagree with other comments though. The mag loader grabs the cars very well and holds 4 (or maybe it's 5) really well. You can also launch 3 cars in 3 seconds because of it. None of our other launchers can ever do more than one in 5 seconds.
The rapid pedal launcher alone is worth $20 if you ask me. Any kid can do it, the speed generated is great, and the piece it comes with allows you to adjust to shoot it into 4 different starting directions.
The grabber or "magazine" is also very solid as stated.
The tracks and stunts it comes with out of the box are a little weak though. It has you build 4 by default and 2 of them don't do anything. The top piece to the carrying box has nice lanes though. It has one solid u-turn if you're building something massive throughout the house and the double loop is a solid piece as well.
$50 was steep for the entire set but $20-$30 for the launcher/magazine (to me personally) is totally worth it.
We have previously built a track that was over 230 ft outside and now we're excited to build something better (probably 2-3 different tracks hooked up to the one launcher this comes with) and test it out.
Sorry for the novel. Like I said, I don't leave many reviews but if you like hot wheels, this is a game changer IMHO. Thanks!

I have little kids and the car loader is more trouble than it's worth. Luckily you don't need to use it at all. Overall it's a nice set and the launcher works well.
