in for 6

edit : apparently I should have chosen a more ludicrous number although a wall of tool boxes does sound quite awesome

actually in for 1

definitely a good comparison video. the US general seems like a better quality box but at $1700 these days you could almost get 2 of these Husky boxes

Good grief. A box that costs twice as much sure as hell better be better.

Do you have any comparisons with anything in the same ballpark pricewise?

They used to be about the same price.

When that video was made 3 years ago the prices between them were about the same. I paid less than 900 for my 72" USG in 2020.

My experience with Husky tool boxes is the drawer slides don't last. First time mine failed on the longest drawer they sent me two sets of slides. I went through both of those and a year later I contacted them again they said they no longer manufactered parts for my box. My Snap On box I bought in 96 is still on its original slides. Get what you pay for I guess. My husky box was not this one.

Do you think you could find new sliders that are better somewhere and swap them out? Or do they attach in a certain way that would make that difficult?

I did end up doing that but the way they design the box sliders it was very difficult to replace. I had to do some fabrication and the drawer doesn't close all the way. Stays open about a half inch.

Hf has lost their minds on current prices. I'll go to big box and get a warranty for the same money. I've almost stopped going at this point.

I guess this might be a good home box. Don't know what the average home owner would need a 72 box for. The draws are shallow af. At being 24" the actual draw will be 19" deep. The fastest and simplest way to know if a tool box is quality is to look at how deep the drawers are. Because that will tell how much weight the draws will be rated at. An entry level Snap On box has a box depth of 24" but a master series box is typically 30" deep.

You can find beginner level Snap On 54" boxes used for $800 to 1k all the time.
