Buy the iPhone at the T-Mobile kiosk at Costco (in-store)
- just upgrade the phone, adding a line is not required

Reference: https://www.t-mobile.com/
https://www.costco.com/

iPhone 14 - 128 GB: $719+ tax= $763

Trade-in discount for XR: $360
  • includes a one-time Bill credit of $75
  • remaining balance on a virtual debit card (Master Card)
Update 1: Minor edits based on comments. Apparently, this is a usual deal from Costco. If you want a better one you should wait for the Black Friday deals in Nov, however, I'm not sure what should we be expecting though.

I'm doing an upgrade from iPhone xr to iPhone 14pro today. T-mobile is doing $800 trade in credit for it. I'm gonna be here for at least the next 24-36 months anyway. Hell of a deal. , I just paid $135 for it 2 weeks ago on the straight talk Slick deal.
I activated the phone, next morning I call into customer service " um yea, I'm leaving out of country next week, can I get a temporary unlock. She says sure, collects IMEI and phone number. Submits ticket". I hung up the phone, 30 mins later, I check and the phone is unlocked.
In USA, temporary unlocks are permanent unlocks on iPhone. Worked out great
That deal requires your in the most expensive plan right?

Does anyone know if an iphone SE 2020 is considered "above" an iphone XR? and if not, how much do they give for the SE 2020?

Wow. So OP says 14 (non pro) is $720. But last year's 13 pro is $170 more! I understand it's a pro vs non pro. But that's a decent difference.

I'm on the fence. I was thinking the 13 series would be a little cheaper. So you're going for the 14 pro? I wonder if my warehouse has the 13 mini.
No 13 mini, rep said they want to replace mini with 14 plus in stock

I confirmed from Costco rep yesterday that no matter which phone lineup you buy, tradein value remains same $360
Am I missing anything here?

I called my local stores and there are no 13 minis left. Just 1-2 in stock of 13 and 13pro in 2 other locations. Sold out everywhere else. $809 for 128GB 13 pro and $899 for 13 pro max.

No need to hijack this thread with your T-Mobile "deal." Especially when that deal has been around since iphone 14 launch, requires MagMax, and is done through T-Mobile so requires years of bill credits to complete.

This thread is for Costco purchases, no bill credits, and most plans qualify. Unless you're a complete newb living under a rock, most of us here already know about the T-Mobile $800 MagMax deal.

And also, most of us here have been receiving permanent unlocks for our phones immediately via TForce assist for years, so that's not anything new either.

I am glad you're happy with your deal, but there is an older thread already where you can flex about your T-Mobile deal. Let's stick to Costco deals here so it does not get out of hand and FUBAR like those other T-Mobile threads.
