Update 1: Minor edits based on comments. Apparently, this is a usual deal from Costco. If you want a better one you should wait for the Black Friday deals in Nov, however, I'm not sure what should we be expecting though.

I activated the phone, next morning I call into customer service " um yea, I'm leaving out of country next week, can I get a temporary unlock. She says sure, collects IMEI and phone number. Submits ticket". I hung up the phone, 30 mins later, I check and the phone is unlocked.
In USA, temporary unlocks are permanent unlocks on iPhone. Worked out great

I'm on the fence. I was thinking the 13 series would be a little cheaper. So you're going for the 14 pro? I wonder if my warehouse has the 13 mini.

This thread is for Costco purchases, no bill credits, and most plans qualify. Unless you're a complete newb living under a rock, most of us here already know about the T-Mobile $800 MagMax deal.
And also, most of us here have been receiving permanent unlocks for our phones immediately via TForce assist for years, so that's not anything new either.
I am glad you're happy with your deal, but there is an older thread already where you can flex about your T-Mobile deal. Let's stick to Costco deals here so it does not get out of hand and FUBAR like those other T-Mobile threads.
