Got the 32gb for $99
I have a few of the previous generations (4k first gen 2017) in 64gb and never needed the extra space.
I've used Roku, firetstick, builtin sony and samsung streamers. Apple TV is my favorite by far. You can use your regular tv remote to control apple tv. If you have an iphone it will auto pause tv when you get a call i you want.
4K (first generation)
At an Apple Special Event on September 12, 2017, Apple announced the Apple TV 4K which supports 2160p output, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and includes a faster Apple A10X Fusion chip supporting HEVC hardware decoding. Dolby Atmos support was added in tvOS 12. Following the announcement of the new models, the 64 GB version of the Apple TV HD was discontinued. Externally it is similar to the 4th generation model, with the only differences being the addition of vents on the base, the removal of the USB-C port, and the addition of a tactile white ring around the Menu button on the included Siri Remote.
4K (second generation)
On April 20, 2021, Apple announced an updated Apple TV 4K with the A12 Bionic chip, support for high frame rate HDR, HDMI 2.1, and Wi-Fi 6. Its HDMI port supports ARC and eARC, which allows other sources plugged into the television to output audio through Apple TV, including to AirPlay speakers like HomePod. It also has the ability to pair with the ambient light sensor on iPhones with Face ID to optimize its color output, a feature that was also extended to older Apple TVs with tvOS 14.5. AirPlay supports high frame rate HDR playback, allowing videos shot on the iPhone 12 Pro in Dolby Vision 4K 60fps to be mirrored in full resolution. Following the announcement, the previous Apple TV 4K with an A10X Fusion chip was discontinued.
The model also comes with a thicker redesigned Siri Remote with a circular touchpad with navigational buttons, as well as power and mute buttons. The remote does not include an accelerometer and gyroscope, which were present in the previous Siri Remote, making it incompatible with some games. The remote is compatible with previous generation tvOS-based Apple TVs and ships with an updated SKU of the Apple TV HD.
4K (third generation)
On October 18, 2022, Apple announced an updated Apple TV 4K with the A15 Bionic chip, reduced weight and dimensions, and support for HDR10+. It comes in two configurations, a Wi-Fi-only model with 64 GB of storage, and a higher-priced 128GB model with Wi-Fi, Ethernet and a Thread radio. The included Siri Remote charges via USB-C instead of Lightning.
I still use my AppleTV from 2018 and it's faster than my 2021 Firestick. You'll get 6 years out of this so it's worth 3 firesticks plus you won't get bombarded by amazon and can do screen mirroring if you have an iphone. what would you rather have?
Whenever I airplay a stream from my Mac to my 2018 ATV4k, most of the time it doesn't work. Some people mentioned a DRM issue, but this is not any of the popular streaming services. It's like NBA, NFL streams.
Does 2021/2022 ATV fix this?

WTF? Why would they do that? The photos on Amazon show the port on the back. I have a 64GB unopened and now wondering if I should return it and wait for a deal on the 128GB — while I have ZERO use for the extra storage (what the heck do you guys do with the storage? I primarily use this to stream, online and locally — no local storage, and I have nowhere near enough apps to use even a quarter of the 32GB) but it's the best streaming box on the market, esp for me who am in the Apple ecosystem already.
Because it's Apple, and they're professionals at supply chain economics. They'll cut out a charge cable, an AC adapter, and strain relief on a $2,000 product just to save 13 cents.
I have the fire stick, fire Box, Roku Ultra box, and the 2017 4K Apple TV. The Apple TV is by far the best streaming device out of all of them. It's UI is smooth and if you go on YouTube, there are videos that shows you get more transfer rate while streaming with Apple TV
I have the 2018 Apple TV4k. I am about to buy a LG OLED C2 TV. Would there be any reason for me to upgrade from the 2018 Apple TV to this one or will they give me the same quality overall? Thanks for any advice.

I have the same one! The only reason I got the current 2nd gen, the one in this deal (sitting right here sealed — I'm returning it), was to get 4K120Hz .. the OG only does 4K60Hz, but that's neither here nor there. I will wait for the 3rd gen coming out next month. HDR10+ doesn't mean anything to me as they all have Dolby Vision (yes, including our OG 2018s) and my TV is a Sony A80J OLED; HDR+ (HDR10+) is only supported by Samsung and since you're not buying that TV (good call! the LG or Sony is the way to go) it will be useless, and as mentioned your current setup already supports DV.
Looks like the new 2022 version got a HUGE price cut. It starts at $129 for 64GB version. I can't decide if this is good or if it is better to get the new one. I guess it depends on if I need Ethernet or not.
I don't think I need the extra power or space and I like the option for Ethernet.
The main reason I want the 2021 (or the 2022) version is for the ARC / eARC functionality.
ARC/eARC funtionality is inconsistent. ATV Siri remote would not turn on my Samsung soundbar when on ARC/eARC but it will when it is in Soundshare mode. Google it and you will find that there are all kinds of problems with ATV and ARC. But my Roku Ultra had no problems with ARC/eARC. Also, I'm streaming YoutubeTV and layout of the channels for Roku Ulta is better than ATV.

This is me. Having just paid $109 for this a week ago. I opened it and installed it and am using it. This is me deciding not to order one and return one to get $10 back. I already feel bad enough about buying from Amazon and fueling their dominance. I'm not going to also waste gas and time to get my $10 back. That's my gas and my time, as well as the gas and time in the supply chain. But dang it hurts so bad lol.

I have ATV4K Gen 1 and the ARC/eARC and, specifically, CEC work perfectly with my Pioneer AVR — ATV turns everything on (for many years a Samsung KS8000-series TV, and now a Sony A80J OLED), including the receiver, and also off when I turn off the ATV. I really couldn't live without it, I only use the remote from the ATV for everything (I don't use any of the TV apps since ATV does everything so much better — as a matter of fact I have the TV firewalled so it can't snoop, and also block ads).
I have the Gen 2 sitting in a sealed box which I will return and wait for the Gen 3 next month.

64GB is $129, but removes Ethernet port for wifi only connections.
128GB model is $149 and retains the ethernet port
