Basically every comment here about "devs" ripping on Series S is based off a single tweet by a small-time dev.
Decent but not as good as the nowexpired Target deal.

I really want the $199.99 price point. It is still possible and realistic so I will wait. I have nothing to lose anyways.
Less memory and GPU is exactly the trade off a hardware maker will do to run at a lower resolution. Almost identical CPU means that there shouldn't be any issue running AI, physics, and general game code the same.

Lazy dev's love to have something to point at. I won't take the opinions of some Bossa Games dev that have games with trash optimization like "I Am Fish" that ran subpar everywhere when other devs are doing great, even on Switch ports.

True and I give you that as I have had seen them offer KC but honestly it isn't the same as actual cash value, and even if it is, there are restriction on what's eligible to buy and when to start using it.

Plus, not everyone shops there so essentially it limit to smaller audience. If you for example like KC and do take advantage of it whenever, great, more power to you 😎

im glad I decided to get a series X. Keep reading from developers the series S is holding games back because of the weaker specs.

I'd go with the series X if you can. Shame MS put out a gimped system out of the gate that affects PC/PS5/Series X from using their full potential.
Wrong, series S does not in any way hold back the potential of series x /ps5 games, it simply plays them at a lower resolution. It is just as powerful in every other way, and it is what will make Xbox more popular this generation.

The core issue with the S is that it also has significantly less memory to the normal consoles of the generation. If it was just a slower GPU then it would in theory be possible to just run games slower/at a lower resolution but the lack of memory means that for some games core systems need to be cut down or redesigned in order to fit
