Worth it for a 4 and 5 year old? Seems cute since it's big.

I bought it for my 6, 8, and 10 year olds. It will be fun BECAUSE it's big.

Thanks for the tip! I bought 2. One for my nephew to keep and one for playing when visiting.

The game is for 4+ years old, we still need to wait.

6 years old is already too old for Candy Land. Candy Land isn't a game. The deck of cards determines the entire outcome and the players have zero decisions to make and no control over anything that happens, so there is no actual game there. The only thing candy land is really good for is to teach very young children how to wait their turn and follow basic rules. Once a kid hits 5 or 6 they should already be playing games where they have to do some thinking. Race For The Treasure is a great co-op game for the young ones, and even Uno.

Not that the recommended age is not valid, but I've found my toddler able to understand games meant for 4+ as long as there are no small parts for choking. Each kid is different and I've used my best judgement on when to introduce toys meant for older kids. I bring it out and show how it works, if it works, then it stays out. If not, I put it away and try again in a few months. It has worked for us.

The outcome of any game of Candy Land is predetermined before the game starts. There is literally no strategy involved in a game on Candy Land, might as well just be a coin flipping game.

We have the Big version of Sorry and it's terrific. The kids love it it and still play it after 4 months of owning it

Just FYI, looks like price is up to $20 now.
For those previous comments, or those interested there are 5 GIANT games available. Each at different prices. Looks like I missed the 9$ slickdeal.
