Inflation is hitting us hard and fast. Putting our dollars in these vehicles is like putting our grown vegetables outside to rot or be eaten by insects. Giving your assets to the eaters will not increase your portfolio.
If you can use your assets to improve your productivity, that is the best investment. The next best is to buy now the things you will use later. It is not a good investment, but is is a safe one. Then think about things your neighbors will need and you can trade with them. This is not great, but better than nothing.
Always a doomsday or prepper in these threads.
No, you will not need to think about what your neighbors need and trade them. One or both of you will just end up shooting the other if the world ever devolved into whatever the heck you think is coming in your lifetime...

This is not supposed to be an investment. This is where you park your emergency funds and personal savings in cash.
Good luck trying to time the markets and leaving $100k in cash during this kind of inflationary period

Yep. Locked in 40k at 9.6% in I Bonds between 4 of us. Will figure for remaining cash as well. May be straight treasuries.

It is. Spouse and 2 kids so that makes 4 of us. Just reading around. I think I can do 20 more for the two llcs i have so if i couldn't find anything else I will park there. This is my reserve fund so wont mind early withdrawal if at all needed.
