You don't have to but probably should. There is a story to the games and season 2 takes place after the first one. Season 2 was kinda weird, I liked it but knowing why it was so weird would make it more enjoyable.

We've played through all of the Pandemic Legacy games (there's three) and I highly recommend them all. Season 2 deviates the most from the standard pandemic gameplay style (this is a positive). I would say it is beneficial to start with season 2, since players wont be fighting the instincts and habits they may have picked up from playing the other seasons. You don't need to play any of them in order. I will say season 1 has a slight advantage as it can be played as the regular 'Pandemic' game. The box color means nothing (black was likely a more popular color, hence yellow is discounted) the contents are the same. Keep in mind this game is a marathon, not a sprint. In our experience it has given us higher highs and lower lows than the other seasons, and truly drives home the impact of decisions made during play.

Yes! The add on should come with false/deceptive advertising like how long its going to work and its efficacy rate. It should also explicitly say this is definitely the last add on you will ever need until the next one is released in a few months/the next year and then this add on will become useless. Further, if you use this add on in the game after a new one is released, it will be considered cheating. Seems totally fair.
