As for the RAM upgradeability, according to a question asked on Best Buy by a buyer, HP team representative answered it as: "Thank you for the question. The Pavilion 14-ek0013dx specification indicates that the memory is "onboard", meaning soldered. While it can be upgraded, this would be a job for a trained technician. If by "internal space" you mean storage, yes, the drive could be switched out for one of higher capacity. Due to the Li-ion battery, we suggest that all upgrades be performed by professional technicians."
Another similar questioned was answered by a HP team representative as: "This Pavilion 2-in-1 laptop has 2 slots which can be upgraded by a tech professional up to 16GB in each slot for 32GB of total RAM."
So, yes, it is soldered and not upgradeable by a layman.
According to benchmarks, 1135g7 is 22% slower than 1215U on single core loads and 12.4% slower than on multi core loads.
If you're not a professional that does video editing or CGI, then you want to pay attention to single core scores; so 22% performance difference, with the 1215U being the better performer. From my experience anything above 10% is noticeable.

Found the service manual. It says the ram isn't upgradable. Just thought I'd look it up since the answers above show two different answers to it from HP techs.
So sad. Solid device for the price otherwise. I see OB excellent in my area for $330.

How about some light gaming? Gta5?
Does you think it's better than 1135 when gaming
These new computers are turning more and more into tablets. Proprietary soldered machines that will have a life span to a certain point. And a use case to a certain point. It can have a very powerful cpu but limited memory and storage makes it very limited as to what software your running on it
