Plus comes with 2% cash back also. Doesn't include booze, tobacco and some other things. Also shipped items don't get cash back, so that can partially offset 'free' shipping in a pricey item. We typically spend a few hundred as month there plus the occasional large item, so the 2% will easily cover the upcharge and sometimes the entire membership. YMMV, of course, but Sam's is doing well so it seems that many people find the membership useful.

When you order 50 cases of various pantry items it's well worth it. Unfortunately I think the UPS guy caught on cause now wonky boxes end up randomly on the lawn.

They did the disney e-gift card BF last yr it was max 2 $50 gift card for which were 40 each if my memory serves right n it 12 01am the site crashed and took till 2am for it to come online and gift cards were all gone. I spend 2 hours refreshing the page ever 10 to 30 seconds n still nothing. Yes I already had them in my cart and at 12:01 I went to buy them n they removed them.

Well it may sound a bit ridiculous but he is correct....you better check prices at walmart every time you buy something at sam's....example right now

walmart sells 2 pack of 16-oz propane cylinder for $9.87 so even if you don't get any discount for buying more you will get a total of 6 for $29.61. A 6-pack is available at sams for $29.98!!!

A while back I wanted to buy a sewing machine and I was almost going to pull the trigger when I realized walmart had "exact" same model for $20 less $130 vs $110!!

There's lots of stuff cheaper or comparable at Walmart simply because Sam's has a heavy focus on name brands and only sells the name brand version of many products. Walmart on the other hand has a heavy focus on its generic brands and has a generic version of just about everything.
