Love my shark vacuum, and it has lasted three times as long as my Dysons ever did … I will never buy another Dyson again, waste of money

Use a box cutter and pull? Maybe 5 minutes if you count going to the basement to get the box cutter.

I bought this model for about the same price a couple years ago. It works well but the piece that holds the accessories sometimes comes off when detaching the house for spot cleaning.

I also find the unit to be light and very nimble, so much so that it takes effort to vacuum in a straight line. I transitioned from a heavy Dyson so it was a surprise that this Shark would quickly turn with such little steering input.

Have had a shark vacuum I got from Costco back in 2018, for $150-ish. Pretty durable, as I've used it on carpet, on hardwood, in the garage, on balcony.

This one looks fairly similar to the one I have, and it seems to consist of the vacuum head, the vacuum canister, and the wand. The wand can be detached from the canister, and the long tube attachment detached from the wand. Makes cleaning it fairly easy.

I can't attest to how it compares to more expensive vacuums, but it gets the job done.

With the crazy amounts of robotic vacuum cleaner models out there at such low prices nowadays, I wonder who is still buying upright ones!
Right robo vacs are less expensive than before but they can't replace uprights. Both belong to different leagues in terms of suction power

Bought this model back in August, it's been this price since then. I return it because it has no height adjustment, works perfect on bare floors with strong suction but on area rugs it won't let go causing damage on the rug.

You can take it apart. "Completely sealed" just means it has some sort of filter system.

This one and most sharks are sealed with a HEPA filter. Sharks are actually really good for those with allergies. You aren't blowing particles in the air with this vacuum.

Sealed system, as in sealed to the HEPA exhaust to trap more debris from expelling into the air.. these are very easy to get into and clean, and the filters are easy and inexpensive to clean and replace... i worked on vacs for many years in our family business.. sharks were one of my favorite to mess with.. they made it well. and they last.. even in heavy use environments.. my church has one going on 18months now... most vacs will not last that long commercially.. not when used daily for hours.. motors just give up...

Opposite for me...

Like the shark, but didn't last long. There are no parts readily available, Sharks are designed to be used until they break and then thrown away, not easily repairable.

Our Dyson ball has lasted for years but didn't realize how much it destroyed our carpet, pulls out so much fibers. Would vacuum my house and have to empty canister 4-5 times. Now use a Sebo and the bag last me for months, no fibers, just dust.

Sebo is significantly more expensive, but truly BIFL, 10 year warranty, designed to be easily repairable, and bags/filters are cheaper than Miele. Highly recommend Sebo for anyone who is tired having to buy a new vacuum every few years.

Have had 3 of the Shark Liftaways for probably 12 years or so. On the third one that I got at bf sale at walmart similar to this one 2 years ago. I have had no problem getting them to sent me parts under the 5 year warranty. I think our two claims were that the hoses developed rips. I called them, read some number off of the unit, and I had my part a few days later.

Honestly, even now that I have vinyl flooring and tile, with pets and allergies I use a Roomba daily to do the pet hair, dust and debri and get under things, a vac a couple times a week to get what the Roomba missed, plus we have a rechargeable Tineco that doesn't last more tnan 20-30 min. Oh, and a backpak Axtria or some thing for spring cleaning. Sorry. We like our vacs.

All the talk about having a self cleaning brush roll is great for 6 months. We bought a $500 Shark with duoclean rollers for our son with 2 long hair Newfoundland dogs. In 6 months the front roller stopped turning and the silicone fins on the back roller were cracking. Guess what, no parts in the roller system are covered under warranty. I had to pay a small amount (I bargained and begged customer service) to get new roller system shipped. We just replaced our own 10 year+ Shark with another Shark with standard brush roller. I have a Newfoundland and I would sooner unwrap the hair than deal with duoclean gimmick system that looks good in initial testing.

That might be okay for some, but we have a Yellow Lab/German Shepherd mix that sheds like crazy year round, and two females with long hair in the house. Within a few hours after vacuuming, there's furballs all around the edges of the room and visible fur on the floor. We used to have this exact Shark, and we had to clean the brush roll everytime we vacuumed, sometimes in the middle of vacuuming. That's with vacuuming everyday. It gets annoying pretty quickly. Not having a self cleaning brush roll is a deal breaker for us, and others in a similar situation.

How might this compare to a Hoover WindTunnel 2?
