Don't need another one but I'll TU for this deal. Just waiting for a m12 surge to match my m18 surge I never use because the m12 does everything I need. I think it's a sickness.

First time I've seen the new hammer + impact combo kit on sale ($199; Reg $229) and includes one of the new high output XC 2.5 batteries ($79). Need to upgrade my Ridgid 12v now that they've discontinued the 12v line.

I alternate between M12 and M18 surge and don't want to use the regular fuel ones that I initially bought and keep "just in case". For some reason once I used surge after "regular " ones I don't want to go back. The less feedback force and quietness makes it more enjoyable to use for sure.

What size should I get for wheel lug nuts? 1/2 or is 1/4 enough? Was thinking maybe a Milwaukee ratchet could let me do both? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

This is an impact driver, which I do not recommend for lug nuts. Currently there's a Ryobi 1/2" impact wrench with three batteries for $199. There's YouTube videos of that tool loosening nuts torqued to 600 ft lb, which should address all but the rustiest car lug nuts.

Is M12 a specific model number? What I mean is, is this "M12" any different from the "M12" 5-6 years ago?

I would not use a 12V 1/4 impact - it's definitely not going to work on a lot of lug nuts. I have a 20V impact driver but I snapped my 1/4 adapter on my first lug nut so I have never tried again. If you're a weekend DIY kind of guy, you can save a lot by using a corded Porter Cable 1/2" impact for $70-80 on Amazon. Never have to worry about batteries on the rare situations you need an impact.

It is just a brushless impact driver. It looks Milwaukee finally makes the leds similar to Dewalt's impact driver. Pricewise it is no cheaper than a 18V compact impact driver on sale regularly, witch mostly will have a thinner handle for easy grab.

Not what I'd use consistently for lug nuts. Milwaukee ratchet will not work for your needs. I'd get the Milwaukee Stubby M12 in 1/2" if I were looking to do lug nuts. That said my 1/4" fuel with an adapter to 1/2" sockets will take the lug nuts off my Honda, but the CRV is only 80 ft/lbs when torqued correctly.

Those ratchets have like 35lbs torque. That may work for a tri -cycle but thats jt,,, Youre going to want a 1/2 inch impact wrench. This tool may work with certain cars but its not an ideal tool for the job

Why would anyone buy just the impact when they have the opportunity to get and drill kit for only $42 more?

But the fuel combo comes to $140 when u use the hack, which means for $40 extra you are getting an extra hammer drill and a 4Ah XC battery! Thats a no brainer imo
