Pretty good price for the saw and stand together. There are a couple of stands available to choose from too. I wish it was the DWS780 on sale with stand, but no luck.

That is a good price... I wonder if the 779 is a new "Type __" and just comes with a wing nut holding blade on?

(Clarification: Dewalt has really stripped their SCMS saws down in order to keep a price point. It's a shame... they used to be amazing.)

How does the hack work now? It only lets you cancel both items at once. Do you have to do pickup at separate stores? I was under the impression that HD is cracking down on these hacks.

Bought that deal 2 weeks agi for $449. Boxes are still untouched. If I contact with HD CS, is it possible for them to adjust price or do have return it and order a new one? Any experience?

What are other options for the stand? I don't care for portability, as I'll be setting this in my workshop. So a different stand may work better. Setting up a new workshop in my house and pretty new to all this

I've had success with Home Depot doing a price adjustment. If it's been too long, which it does not appear to be your case, I just return it and repurchase it at the cheaper price.

Not slick, but you can buy a retro kit for the XPS around $100

I ended up just buying the DWS780 for $475. Dewalt has continued to gimp the 779 so the 780 is more full featured. It used to be basically the same saw but when researching differences, there are more now than there used to be.

These are hackable. The link provided is for the complete set. Just click the saw or type in Dewalt sliding miter and you still see it discounted to 399 plus select your choice of stand.
