So if I'm understanding correctly, prices for the saw and stand when separately added to cart are: Saw $253.50 and Stand $145.50. If I were to purchase and return the Saw, I could keep the stand at $145.50?

Without my glasses the bottom photo looked like an ambulance gurney to me, and for a quick second I wondered how I could use this. #Slickdealermania

Yes. Or return the stand and keep the saw for 253.50

Thanks for confirming.

I was hoping to get a rolling stand, but I've read a lot of mixed things about the Dewalt one. People on slickdeals seem very into the Ridgid Rolling Miter Saw Stand and it can often be had for $100-120 when there are deals. Tough decision...

DWS779 for $399 comes with your choice of a free gift of either the mobile stand or the larger stationary one.

This should be hackable.

Bought that deal 2 weeks agi for $449. Boxes are still untouched. If I contact with HD CS, is it possible for them to adjust price or do have return it and order a new one? Any experience?
HD has 90 policy and Dewalt has their own satisfaction guaranteed too for 90 days. . return it, but make sure you have the new deal. also HD has a price adjustment within 30 days. may as well just do that.

Been buying too much stuff lately. Wife is going to kill me. Let's see what she says when this shows up at the front door.

I had a 779 from 2018 that was just recently stolen (thank you), so has this been neutered ? Should I buy a different saw?

What are the cons of this one? Is there anything missing vs the premier miter saws out there? Laser, shadow line, etc?

You can swap out the handle and light from a 780 and add the shadow line to this. I did that and it was like $30 if I remember and it took about 5 min

Biggest con for this saw is that it is huge and is overkill if you don't need that extra cross-cut capacity. Some other 12" sliding miters (eg Delta, Ridgid, etc) have designs that don't require extra clearance behind the saw for the slider, so they can be butted up nearly against a wall. This latter part isn't as much of an issue if you're mounting it on the stand.

Consider my husband just spent 800+ on this saw but a better stand, this is slick. I'm trying to convince him to return them to Lowe's so my Christmas gift budget will add 400+. 🤣

What are other options for the stand? I don't care for portability, as I'll be setting this in my workshop. So a different stand may work better. Setting up a new workshop in my house and pretty new to all this
One benefit of this stand is you can fold it down, then store the saw/stand vertically so they take up minimal horizontal space in your workshop. I have the same setup as this deal and have mine stored in the corner of my garage out of the way and just roll it out when I need it. It is a heavy saw so would be a pain to do this with a non-rolling stand.
