Accidental damage protection is new to me
I bought a buydig OLED last year and it came with a similar warranty. It's provided by CPS (Consumer Priority Service), and reviews of the company are HORRIBLE. I went ahead and signed up for the warranty because it only took a few minutes, but I'm hoping I never have to use it. Don't factor it into your buying decision, and if this kind of thing really worries you, take out a warranty with squaretrade or someone with a better reputation.

I find it hard to believe the 55" G2 is worth $800 more than the Sony A80J. Sony has always had better processing for real world usage (upscaling, motion handling, tv/sports). I guess the G2 makes sense if you only watch movies? Can someone convince me why you'd want this over Sony?

At this point, I don't know why they don't just write that they put the GC money back on the card you used for the purchase. Because that's what they always do from my experience. It would probably be more appealing to people that way.

The warranty is really just "extra" at this point. It comes with 5 year mfg warranty anyway. Unless buydig is not an authorized seller which I doubt.

But if CPS doesn't honor, then you can hopefully get mfg to cover it.

You're comparing a 2021, A80j, model to one that came out this year. That explains the price difference. The LG is brighter and the remote is universal for almost anything plugged into the tv where the Sony remote only controls cable boxes. Wait till next year and the G2 will cost the same as the A80J.

Most likely because they can't reduce prices below a certain point. The mfg controls the prices. So they provide other incentives to bring customers in without digging into their profits.

I bought the 77" G1 last December for 2200 delivered. This will likely drop that fast also. These panels are really stunning if you can get a large enough size. I couldn't really notice a visual difference in the G1 and G2 in store.

Called Best Buy and they are full or retards. They don't price match anything that is on "sale". According to their phone support. Lol? At what point can someone price match then?

BB has price-matched Costco on multiple occasions for me. I do this so I can take advantage of their 0% financing

Yea. Their phone support is a bunch of idiots. That's literally the point of price matching because something went on sale. They said they can only price match "regular price" not sale price

Thinking about the c2 on Costco.
Same here, the 83", but the 77" deal is so much more tempting

Decent deal, but always consider with LG OLEDs whether you need the best available model. Improvements tend to be pretty incremental, and prices are always much lower for the previous year's models. Also consider that the C panels are only slightly worse than the G ones, especially if you're not wall-mounting and don't benefit from the gallery design.

A few weeks ago I got a C1 from last year, 65" for $1450 at Cleveland Plasma (total, zero shipping/tax) -- not quite their standard price, but to get the sale they beat the current Amazon deal even with their 10% back. C2 or even G2 are only better in minor ways. Paying $1800 or so for the C2, or this $1950 for the G2 doesn't really make sense for my needs. If I wanted those badly enough I'd just wait a year and save $300-400.
G series is superior in every aspect and that small cost in saving for the C series doesn't equate to the manufacturer 5 year panel warranty for the G series.

A warranty alone for such an expensive tv from a store like Best Buy for 5 years would cost a lot more money.
