I got three of these with the last deal using an Amex offer. Nice size and convenient to carry around, but the battery pack only charges at around 7w and takes forever. Hardly use it anymore because most of the time when we find it around the house, it's dead and takes about 2-3hr to charge.
The best use case I can think of is if you are traveling and only have a USB-c charger with you, this will let you charge your iPhone along with your laptop, iPad Pro, and others.
I would not buy at this price.
So pretty much just sustains your batter rather than charges it unless the screen is off?

This thing is a thic Boi too.

For those with iPhone minis, this works perfectly. The 621 is too big for the minis

It has no problem charging my 13 Pro, just slowly. I wouldn't want to use the phone for too long with this attached since it's little too thick. You have the both wired and wireless option so that's nice.

Depends which phone you use it on. It does charge my 12 mini even while using, but very slowly. My wife has a 13 pro and for that phone it basically maintains the battery level while in use. It's not too bad to keep on the phone while in use assuming that you have a magsafe case, and that's really what you need to do since there's no such thing as a quick charge with this device.

These are best used while you still have charge. Like slap it on at 70-80% not when you're at 2%.

Does this one get hot?

Just picked up a 14 pro and been researching magsafe battery banks. For the price, better to try the anker and this method of charging than finding out I hate it with $100 apple version.
Just FYI the Apple one is less than half the capacity as this one in terms of mAh.

However the 622 is only slightly thicker than the Apple one; it's between the thickness of this one and the Apple one. You can use the 622 + phone while it's charging. Bit harder to do so with this one.

Last time I bought the 622 it was on sale for $38. $12 is worth it to me for a thinner battery pack and a kickstand.

Thickness of each battery pack, ordered by thickness:

Apple: 0.43 in (11.0 mm)
Anker 621: 0.45 in (11.4 mm)
Anker 622 (has kickstand): 0.5 in (12.7 mm)

Anker 521 (this one): 0.63 in (16.0 mm)

Measurements from Amazon

Just for a comparison, all the modern iPhones hover around 7-8 mm.

Edit: Added 621, which for some reason has a $5 higher MSRP than the 622?

I've never seen them on sale before. I own both this and the newer 622. I prefer this version. I don't care for the flap on the 622. Capacity is the same. I picked another of these up.
621 would be the new version without the flap. Capacity is still the same, but a little thinner.

This one is thicker than other Anker models but the width and length is small than others so overall vol is similar, if not smaller.

It gets warm and not hot since only ~5W. That's one nice thing about it. BTW, you can use it in a pass through mode so have this connected to the wall and charge both at the same time.

I've seen these on sale several times, all at around this price. Best price if you need one, but 5W is soooo slow.
