My only thought is whether there will be a better deal next month or is it worth it to just take the enhanced trade in now that pays out same price for cracked devices. Total price for me is coming out to $237 + tax.

With Samsung, there seem to always be good deals. Last galaxy days they offered over $650 trade towards an s8 Ultra. That said, the screen for your device is pretty pricey to replace, so might want to take that into account. Also, how much RAM do you have, because that's something to consider also.
The problem with s7 fe is the 4gb ram (if its the 64gb version). I had bith s7 fe and s7 plus, the s7 plus is so much better, and with 120hz Super Amoled. But for s8 i don't know.
I'm trading my old (and still being used) Galaxy Tab S4 that I bought in 2019 for a Slickdeal cost of $283 all-in. Three years later I get that back plus other discounts/promotions
All-in Net cost with sales tax for the Tab S8: $259

Price is 150 with s7 trade in.
Also, why pay extra for 256 gb when you can just add an SD card later if you need more storage.
Differences in S7 and S8 ?
