In theory, I purchased the last one of the OP version, if Amazon's inventory is correct, rejected 2 b/c only 1 in stock.

Agreed!!! It takes 5 minutes just to get the American crew off of your hands when applying and it doesn't hold as well. I've used American crew, Mitch & duke cannon. Both Mitch and duke cannon put American crew to shame.

I was able to buy 3 right now.

Walmart has a 4 pack for $39 so about the same price per unit. Recent reviews say it's old product, but I didn't have an issue when I bought it last year.
