Ah crap, I missed this comment my first go around. This is a HUGE problem for tailgating anywhere in the northern US during the winter months. I think I'm going to cancel my order and wait for a Weber.
Does anyone know if there are any other good propane tailgate grills that I should be looking at? I need something that can be transported in the trunk of a car, and can hold temps in very cold and windy environments. I will try to figure out a wind-block to help the situation, but if the grill is good at fending off that type of environment, it'll help.

You reset it, and it goes back to the beautiful 0-500°F in 60 seconds beast power in any wind conditions. The lid is your friend. I've grilled In 20mile frosty winds and served up 3 full batches of meat before my friend got his charcoal started.
The gas valve will partially lock if you didn't fully close the gas when done.

Weber is 10K BTU. This is 20K.
The Weber is the one that suffers from low heat.
I've had this 3 years now. It's the best portable grill on the market. I grill a TON.
The 2 upgrades that make this the king of portable BBQs are the flat griddle, for onions, veg, or a full side sear on a rib eye,(and for fatty sausages so they don't ignite over open flame) and the other upgrade is the 1-20lb hose converter. (I also have a flamekong refillable 1lb lit which is awesome).
The lid ensures you can cook in the snow no problems. Done it.
There is ONE issue. The lid lock sucks. So if you plan to wheel it, with the lid lock on, don't. Get a strap (I have a easy click strap I use) that will solve it.
Re the water - you don't need it, but it definitely helps. In the wild, just plan to bring a few extra paper towels.
I am a crazy meat guy. I Smoke meats, cure them, stuff sausages... Bbq for massive crowds (30-40ppl). this is the best I've used, until now it's been Weber, and I've never looked back.
Thank me later.

A friend has this and it was a bit bulky for camping/packing
