This, I have plenty of 18v LXT tools already from makita. I'm not about to switch over to a whole new platform when what I already have works just fine and all tools still have plenty of life left in them.

It's also a completely different ecosystem which doesn't have a B&M presence (yet) at big box stores and has a small fraction of marketshare.

It may be the future for Makita, but it's not quickly being adopted.

I have this saw from a previous deal. It's a really good saw it you're already in the Makita ecosystem. For 200 with 4 batteries, that's a pretty decent deal.

Get the rear handled makita if your right handed.. much easier to watch the blade during a cut.

This. Plus the rear handle is more powerful to boot.

The newer XGT model is lighter and lasts longer with 1 battery, it makes this 2 battery saw look so outdated.

I tested them at HomeDepot, after you use 1 battery saw, the dual battery saws feel heavy.

I have both and use the larger one. The difference is like a skill saw vs worm drive back working construction. The grunts had the former and the forman had the later.
