I woke up this morning and my heated blanket wouldn't turn on. I thought it was coming to an end as it kept going into 'E' for error mode all the time. So glad to avoid full price for one this time of year.

My cat was sick last week and I had to give her medicine twice a day and keep an eye on her extra. The heated blanket is a cat magnet and was so helpful keeping her in one area most of the day.

FYI, Amazon model has dual zone/two controllers.

Walmart is offering a single zone / single controller.

Always wanted to post this somewhere. I have a Westinghouse king electric blanket that is almost 42 years old. My side works fine, hubby broke his side a few years ago, but amazed it lasted that long with him yanking on it. I replaced the binding and we washed it last year. They don't make things like that anymore...

We've had one of these (Queen size) for over 8 years and it's still working fine.

The smaller LL Bean heated blanket we bought quit working after a little over a year (warranty conveniently was for 1 year). Just my personal experience.

Worth nothing Biddeford does have a 5 year warranty on their blankets so just make sure to fill out the warranty registration after you get it!

Just returned a garbage one that stopped working after a few days. Gonna use the credit towards this. Fingers crossed it stays alive.

Are these a legit queen size? We have a "twin" that is far too short.

Would this save more on electricity than say for example turning on a space heater and also would using a twin size instead of queen use less electricity?

Mine went 'E' this morning too. Hoping it's just a glitch and I can hold off on getting another until black friday. Kohl's has them for like $20 each year

Yes it could save on electricity. These blankets probably consume 200-400W. Let's use 400W for calculating. Space heaters normally use either 750W (low) or 1500W (high setting). Setting space heater at 750W all night will use more than 400W blanket at full power sure, but depending on your thermostat setting the space heater won't be on all night. If it's on half the night you'll use 375W and your temperature in the room will be more even for say a midnight trip to the bathroom. So it's up to what you prefer really, heat on you vs around the room at the expense of fan noise (oil heater would avoid noise, same math applies). I'd reckon 400W of blanket power is way too toasty and space heater being off half the night depends on many factors. Ultimately you'll use less electricity 95% of situations with a blanket and probably be more cozy.
