Why the thumbs down? For $176 it doesn't seem like a bad deal to me. An extra 8gb of RAM and it seems like a good basic home PC as long as you can live with the small hard drive capacity. Can install an extra storage drive if needed.

Wanted to buy this to pull out the 10105, does anyone know if it will work with a Celeron G5905? It's the same socket but I've heard sometimes these OEM boards are compatible only with certain select CPU models.

Will this have good longevity for an older person to use? I swear older people's PCs that rarely get used and only for emails and stuff start slowing down and suffering in a way that my PC never does, and they aren't even doing anything wrong. The Hard Drive isn't full. They turn it off when they aren't using it. I keep it updated for them. Currently have a small form factor Acer that's probably too old to get Win 11 and when it boots it sounds like a small airplane. But my gaming PC that was 5~years old before upgrading to Zen 2 architecture never had any such issues.

The fan here is quite loud. I replace it with a 80mm noctua and it is now dead silence. It fits perfectly and doesn't block the ram slots.

Did you replace the heat sink too? Or just the fan?

Just the fan. The old one I think is 96mm round. But the hole fit the 80mm standard. Did this for 2 of my XC.

For people that are interested, I run this with a rx6400, extra 8gb stick and extra 1tb sata ssd. Also you can makeshift an extra fan into the side panel with the built in fan headers. Total investment was about $350 (200 pc, 100 gpu, 30 ssd and 20 ram) but runs like a dream and is small form factor. My use case is engineering and Fortnite. Comparable chonkier builds are $699 at Walmart, but I like my tinier size for my desk.

Where did you get the RX6400 for $100? It seems to be $150 most places.

Anyone attempt to salvage parts from this or some of the other systems posted?

I want to take the CPU/cooler/memory and put it into a different motherboard to use as a home server (need better PSU to power a bunch of disks and it doesn't look like that motherboard does regular ATX 24-pin connectors).

It looks like it's cheaper than getting a CPU/cooler/RAM bundle from ebay or something.

Thoughts?
