Video Games have really killed the meaning behind Special/Deluxe/etc editions. About equivalent to ordering a cheeseburger, but the deluxe cheeseburger comes with a free ketchup packet.

Finished it not long ago. Visuals were amazing, story subpar. Item discovery metroid-ish for puzzles / backtracking. Combat tried for souls-like, but as you said the parrying system is very finnicky. Ended up dodging more than anything even though they heavily push you to parry.

Not the deluxe edition. Plus, physical is always better. You actually own it, and have the option to resell it if you find you don't like it or you're like me and almost never replay games, and couldn't care less about collecting.

Anyone play this more recently? I love 3rd person Action-Adventure games, but I heard on early reviews that the combat here was subpar due to the difficulty of the parring system and other things.

This is a fun game. The combat is actually solid and gives you a bit of a challenge on higher difficulty levels.

The combat system is actually good. Though parrying is mostly useless. Like the other person said, I pretty much dodged throughout the game, rather than parried. It's a really good game, though.

It's a gamble. These indy games don't get reproduced. Yeah maybe it drops to $20 over holiday season but it could also jump to $70 once retailers sell out and you're dealing with collectible market.
