Instead of saving $170, I decided to save $400 😏
I bought this exact model. It has a small ~40mm fan, but was still overheating and shutting off twice a day.
I pointed an additional 120mm fan at it which helped, but still overheated a couple times a week. I may have just gotten a lemon, just my experience.
When it worked it was perfect, very fast, easy to navigate UI.
I dont understand why expensive routers still dont have 2.5gig ethernet ports. This has one for connecting with your modem but not for devices.

This looks like best buy exclusive model, the RAXE300 which is basically this models equivalent is $399 @ Amazon.
Been waiting for a good 6E and this one should do nicely.

Pricing finally getting more reasonable. As much I dislike overpriced Netgear equipment (and still own at least three wifi devices around the house), this is the first solid 6E deal among the main brands. Asus offers were not that great thus far

It allows aggregating two 1G ports for 2G connection. Mostly for NAS and two NIC is required

I notice that this RAXE290 , the 6GHZ only has 256-QAM but regular RAXE300 has 1024/256-QAM for 6GHz.

Is this a big performance issue?

I believe this is the 2.5 gig speed in which one can reach (at least theoretically) with one connected device. And yes, a 2.5ghz connected band would be outdated.

Okay? What devices do you have that support that??
Multi-gig internet is becoming more common, with even Comcast starting to roll it out across the US. For those who prefer wired connections and have a modern motherboard (or add-on card) with 2.5GbE port, this will starting becoming a more and more common use case over the next couple years.

Exactly. My mobo, Ethernet cables, and ISP speeds can support over 1Gbps. But I'm bottlenecked by the Ethernet ports on my router. (Edit: I'm not an expert, I *think* I'm bottlenecked by router, but I could be missing something)

Does this one have a built in plex server like the Nighthawk X10 R9000 or no? I see it has a USB C port on the back to attach an external HDD or thumb drive.
