New Vegas is an absolute gem. I enjoyed the story and the exploration. Most of the bugs that brought down the review score were fixed. Enjoy!

Picked up New Vegas recently on sale for 2.50 and have 50 hours on it so far. Just started my second playthrough and the story missions are the same but i'm finding completely different side quests and new stuff every time i pick it up. Runs on my steam deck great. 4-5 hours of battery life.

New Vegas embarrasses all the other Fall Out games IMO. If you haven't yet, grab now and play through and I highly recommended some of the graphic mods available- don't be shy.

Look up "Heroic Game Launcher" on youtube. Very simple setup and works great on the deck.

For GOG and EGS only. If it's a Microsoft code again you'll need to download windows. If you have the CDROMS and DRM free you could use heroic but honestly lutris may be better off especially if you don't want the heroic bloat. Personally the old fallout games are so freaking cheap you're better off buying it when the next steam sale comes around. Like the other guy said last sell had it for $2.50. Agreed there. I got Fallout 76 free a few weeks back but it requires the Xbox App for Windows and is too much f-ing trouble to install on the Deck without installing Windows. I'll just pay a few bucks for 76 when it is on sale later down the line so I can play directly on Steam, minus the hassle. Worth a few $$$ for the convenience.

There are plenty of non-Steam games (at least in my experience) that seem to run about equal on Heroic and Steam. I think the Steam games tend to have their settings tweaked already by Steam (assuming it is at least marked "playable") compared to on Heroic which just defaults to whatever the Devs set them too.

Edit: Great, just great....New Vegas redeems on GOG so should be playable on the Steam Deck. Now off to waste 100 hours of my life on this game for the second time....
