before I apply for this card. If I pay my rent $1500 it would be equal to how much amazon credit?

Normally it's:
143 points = $1

Today it's:
95 points = $1

I just loaded up with like $400 in Amazon GC's for the rest of the year, pretty sweet, this card gets better and better with promos each month.

DO NOT use the points towards next months rent, it's not worth it at all, the conversion is worse than the normal Amazon spend.

For points towards your rent it's:
181 pts = $1
thanks. how long did it take for you to have enough for $400 in Amazon gc?

Question, If I paid my current months rent already via my own checking account, would Bilt compensate for the points if account was opened around or a little after the rent payment time (i.e, after 1-5th of the month, but within the same statement period)?

Just a quick warning to people using this to pay their rent with credit and not with BiltProtect turned on. Turned off BiltProtect because I wasn't sure if I had enough in my checking for all my auto payments on the 1st. Got a suspicious activity text and email from Wells Fargo telling me it declined my rent charge so I called Wells Fargo customer service and they told me to submit another payment so I created a new payment from my rent payment portal while the auto payment was still pending since I didn't want a late payment. Got two charges this month for rent. Never had an issue with suspicious activity alerts when BiltProtect was turned on though.

my opinion, turn biltprotect ON, leave it on and get your finances together so you don't inadvertently trigger suspicious activity; ymmv

The problem is that people are charging small amounts to capture the "5 transactions" required for points. Charging small transactions (under $5) in a short period of time (1-3 days) is a trigger for fraud. The bad guys are testing your card info to see if the transaction goes through. If it does, they can sell that card info as "confirmed valid" for more fraud.

That's why it's getting tripped for fraud with Wells Fargo.

Spend more than $5 and not back-to-back at the same merchant (i.e. Amazon). Especially not an online merchant that allows third-party stores, like Amazon. And OnlyFans. The bad guys setup a fake merchant (content provider) accounts to test cards with.

That's why there's a bunch of fraud warnings going off at Wells Fargo for these Bilt cards. They unintendedly encourage the exact kinds of transactions that the fraudsters use to quality check their product of stolen card account info.

Bilt just started, so its not hard to guess which month accounts are being opened and put in a 2027 expiration and test them all until you get a transaction to go through. Wells Fargo is also seeing those declined attempts, and that also triggers the fraud block on the card.

It's not that cardholders are doing anything wrong. It's the fraudsters are "attacking" that card number. So when a small amount goes through, WF can't tell if it's the bad guys were finally successful (and the card is compromised) or if it's you doing the same stuff the fraudsters are doing - charging small amounts.

So use it like a debit card/paid off every month for 4 more things over $5 each month. Like groceries or electric or Netflix/Hulu/etc if you don't already have a card that gives you CB.

The interesting thing was the rent charges were still through the Bilt generated ACH routing and account number regardless if BiltProtect is turned on or off. Why would they mark the transaction as suspicious when it's through ACH and not the credit card number and expiration date?

Not only specific rental companies. You can get checks from Bilt and pay landlords. I think it works for everyone

That's a bummer. I pay rent on two apartments in different states and a storage facility.

Not true at all.
You get a routing number and an account number and can either mail a check to your rental company, or provide the rounting/account number like a check to your online bill pay system.

I got a bilt card in April, so feel free to ask me any questions, def worth it for all the free points, and I got a bunch of referrals, so got a bonus 50k points too.

I just won't carry a balance on it.

How fast is the online payment?

I pay my 'rent' to my live-in fiance, and she writes the amount over to the landlord. I'm even having the checks sent to the same address on file where we live.

If you use Bilt to mail a check, it takes about 8-10 days for it to arrive.
If you use Bilt with the Account/Routing numbers, then it's instant but it takes like 4-5 days before the balance actually appears in your wells fargo account, but would be instantly sent to your landlord.

Is the rent charged as a regular credit expense or is it considered as cash advance?

Credit ...it is a credit card
