It is when you receive the actual card. I got an email from BILT on the day that the card arrived on the mail. This offwr is random though. Some do not get the offer.
Bilt can either cut a check to your landlord or they will give you a bank account and routing number you can use through a rental portal. Pretty straightforward.
I like that there is finally a product you can gain some benefit on rent payments with. For people who travel, it's a nice variety of programs you can transfer the points to. TPG values Bilt points at 1.8 cents per.
I think you did your math wrong. Amz should be $0.0125

I use it for my mortgage. It provides a routing and checking account number to use online. I also use it to pay utilities.

You get a routing number and an account number and can either mail a check to your rental company, or provide the rounting/account number like a check to your online bill pay system.
I got a bilt card in April, so feel free to ask me any questions, def worth it for all the free points, and I got a bunch of referrals, so got a bonus 50k points too.
I just won't carry a balance on it.
