I've been using a 2K@60hz VA panel monitor to watch old black/white movies in DVD. Didn't notice judder. Using monitor to watch everything since 2009. Never notice anything unusual.
If you don't notice, don't try to, you are lucky lol

Do you guys really notice framerate when you're using the monitor? Unless I'm looking for it, I really don't notice 24/30/60/120/240Hz at all. My son says he does but I'm not sure.

I have had an LG 4k 60Hz 43" 4K TV as a monitor for about 4 years now. If you have the space you should do it. The only thing I would check is input lag - I bought mine because it has a setting that drops it down to the same range as traditional monitors. Otherwise that's really noticeable.

Any recommendation for a DP to HDMI cable or adapter? Need 60Hz at 4K, not 30Hz at 4K.
Use a USB-C then you get power and hdmi on the same cable. Chloetech on amazon is60hz

I don't think you've actually toggled that setting then. Your cable might have been bottlenecked at 30hz the whole time. A mouse cursor is the guaranteed way to see the difference. No matter how bad your eyes are.

Since a mouse cursor doesn't get motion blurred in the GPU, when you move it across the screen you will see 5 individual cursors along a path. This is an example. This is because human eyes see all flashes in a 1/30 timespan as one image. Now toggle up to 60hz - you'll see 10 cursors. Toggle to 120hz - you'll see 20 cursors. The psychological effect of that is they have enough to motion blur, like in nature. Your brain will feel like it's seeing a real object moving rather than a image blinking place to place as you move it around.

Hope that makes sense.

HOWEVER - if you're watching video filmed at 24hz on real film at 180 of 360 degree shutter (where it blurs for half or all the exposure), and comparing it to video filmed at 120hz on real film, and you keep your eyes fixed at one point on the screen, they WILL look identical. No human can tell the difference. BUT if you move your eye around (like watching a football cross the screen), the 120 Hz video will look drastically better. This is because the football will be sharp. 120Hz video relies on your eye to motion blur sharp objects. 24Hz video blurs is for you. But the camera is stationary. So a 24Hz football will be this blurry streak your eye is tracking across the screen, which makes no sense to your brain. Thus it looks terrible. Cinematography crap...I'm rambling...

I used to think that. And then I got a 120hz phone. Right after that, I upgraded my media center TV to 120hz, and I never plan to buy a 60hz display again. Everything is just so much smoother ... even scrolling web pages. IMO, the only people who think 60hz is fine are people who haven't compared it to something better. 300nits is pretty OK for indoor use, unless you're near a window, have glare, or want to watch HDR content. More brightness is always more better ... you can turn it below the maximum, but never above, after all. My current monitor is 300nits and near a window, and in the afternoons I wish it had more.

W/ regard to VA panels, I actually prefer them to IPS due to their improved contrast ratio. As with everything, though, it comes down to the quality of the individual panel moreso than the panel type.
I am currently typing on a 2560x1440 144hz while above it is a 2560x1080p 75hz and use a 1600x900 17" laptop that is 6BiT color! My brother bought a super fancy Samsung that goes to 24hz to match the content he watches. There goes his expensive 120hz panel....!

Yeah we all know 120Hz is better than 60Hz. Fact is Apple only started to support 4k@120Hz on M1 chipped Macbook Pro (14 & 16 '' only).
Pro Gamers bought 4090 + 4k@144Hz, that's a different world.

USB-C won't work for my graphic card.

It seems very few, in fact only I only found two or three cables and adapters can do 4K@60Hz. So the argument of 4K@120Hz vs 4K@60Hz is useless. You can have all you want, but the cable only does 4K@60Hz. Most of them 4K@30Hz.

And, you can forget HDR.

Oh, I can see it. It's just not something that bothers me, nor do I notice it unless someone mentions it.

Are you kidding me? Do you even know what you are talking about?

VA panels are common on monitors and TVs, 300 nits is good enough for indoor use which is where a monitor is supposed to be used anyway, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with 60Hz because almost just everyone in the world uses a 60Hz screen for office work. People who need 144Hz for games know where to find such a monitor.

My $550 HP monitor is IPS, 350 nits, 60Hz and 99% sRGB on paper. I never had any complaints about using it for office work or watching movies. And the specs on this M70B are very decent for those purposes. According to this review [rtings.com], none of the things you mentioned is an issue.
Did you read the review you linked to? According to them it's shitty as a monitor. Because of the VA panel. Bigger the screen, the bigger a problem the "narrow viewing angles" of VA panels are. You want IPS or OLED.

The Samsung M7 43" is alright for office use. It has a large, high-resolution screen which is great for multitasking, but the relatively low pixel density and suboptimal pixel structure results in just decent text clarity. It has bad ergonomics, so it's hard to place it in an ideal viewing position, and it has narrow viewing angles, so the image looks washed out at the sides when sitting close to the screen. It also has a glossy screen coating that looks great when watching movies, but doesn't do much to reduce direct reflections, so its best to avoid placing it in a bright office.
Your HP is a far better monitor. Because it's IPS.

Is 43" too big to use for WFH monitor? I have 30" monitor currently.

I wouldn't thumbs down this guy. HDR specifically is terrible with only 350nits of brightness but it definitely depends on what you are going ti be using it for

Debating. This? Or wait until Black Friday deals? Been wanting a screen for workouts and basement board games that have apps.

The major con for 60hz is the judder on 24fps content (your movies). Regular TV content is absolutely fine
the "judder' you speak of is usually the TV having some motion enhancing feature on by default.

I turned mine off and there is no judder on 24fps content

there is no judder natively on any 60hz tv/panel
