So this is WILD. I called Best Buy and was told they aren't price matching. Then I called Best Buy again, gave the sku, told them it was the iPad Pro 2021 128GB and staples had it for $599.. she tells me "The SKU you gave me is $599" I refreshed on the Best Buy site, still shows $699 so she helped me to process the purchase at $599

How weird.

The guy I called was helpful and we tried the sku lists but it pulled up some furniture at staples.com and then I just told him it was on page 4 of their weekly ad and it sounded like he just clicked weekly ad on their site (which redirects to staples connect) and boom!

The Best Buy guys I chatted with online acted like they couldn't even pull up a website when I linked the website.

Nuance of language is not their strong suit. My chat guy kept telling me "Staples isn't an authorized dealer." which implies not an authorized Apple reseller, which is false.

But I think he meant "When it comes to online price matching, there are only a few that we match and Staple's isn't one of them."

I ultimately had better success in store, since their price match policy in store is "local competitor".

After several attempts with both Target and Best Buy chat, and being told no all the time, I was getting discouraged and said I'll try one last time with Best Buy. She made me wait a while but came back and said she was glad to let me know that this was ok to price match, then took my address and sent the email to pay, order went in and says it will deliver on Friday.

I'm glad I decided to try one last time. Her name is Liliana in case you get her too, now you know she'll likely adjust the price for you.

After getting one yesterday from BB in-store (the last they had in stock), I wanted to get another to replace my dad's (we both have 1st gen Airs from 2013). I was able to pm via Target chat. It was straightforward other than having to be redirected to a higher level rep before getting the match done (this is to be expected with Apple products). The rep went to the Staples website, pulled up the ad himself, I told him it would be listed on page 4, and he added it to my cart with price adjusted.
