Thats still too much. Personally I wouldn't trust anyone putting this beast together. It's very simple build but a lot and if they mess up somewhere it can affect the smoker.

Sounds about right. I was just under 3 hours and a few beers in on my 1050. They are great cookers!

This a good deal? Better than the other deals on the 560 and 800?

I think it depends on what size you're looking for and whether you can find any in stock at the prices in the other deals. It looks like they are mostly end of season clearance, so finding one might be difficult. I wanted the largest size, but would have taken an 800 if I could find one near me at the lower price.

Is this the model Costco had for 300? Or am I wrong? Thanks!

the non-costco 800 comes with the griddle top which I think is a game changer. I have it and love it.

Love this grill. I bought the 1050 for 800 last year and can say I do not regret it at all... if it ever breaks or burns down, I'll gladly buy another!

Bought the Costco 800 version for $200, would consider myself handy, and it took about 2 hours to build. Some of the best meats I've smoked has been on this, and very easy to use!

Read stories of grease fires, but I have been cleaning it in between use.

Is there anywhere left to buy the 800 for less than retail? Seems all the inventory has dried up for places that were getting rid of them.

I also love the griddle on the 800. Easily cook 2lbs bacon at a time, a ton of pancakes, etc.. I was hoping it could be a replacement for my Weber gas grill but I'm keeping both. The 800 will polish off a 18 lb bag of briquets in about 5 hours @250 on a nice summer day, probably a lot more in the winter. The smoak flavor you can achieve on this is GREAT. My grill top pizza oven fits perfectly, and I love the fact it can it get super-hot quickly and get great pizza out of it. Don't take the fire hazard of it lightly, If you don't clean out the grease from smoking or grilling, then try to use griddle or even cook a hi-temp steak the intense heat will cause a fire. I wait for it to cool down after smoking and wipe off the insides to prevent fires next time. I'm keeping the weber for quick burgers or steaks, they taste the same but a lot cheaper.
