Specs out to $562 without the 8gb stick of ram in the expandable slot. Kind of feel like you can take that $70 savings and buy a 32gb of ddr4 to put in the slot to get it to 40gb ram (not sure if advisable but it's possible per Lenovo's site).

Then this becomes a pretty screaming deal.

How do you think the battery life on this would be with the 45Whr battery?

Portability? This a 15" laptop. It's portable as many laptops are. But if a small footprint is a feature you would put high on your standards of "portability". Just keep in mind that you can go smaller than a 15" laptop. I think a 15" is a great size for a few reasons. 1. More screen real estate for less eye strain. 2. Typically 15" laptop will have a number key pad. With all the two factor authentication recommended to log into company websites, this can be a feature that makes the everyday experience more enjoyable. Not to mention if you do punch in numbers frequently it's a no brainier. I have a Similar size laptop, I see no issues with portability. You can easily find backpacks and briefcases that will easily fit the size of laptop. In my preferences the features I mentioned before are a good addition when sacrificing some portability.

The coupon THINKOUT (5%) is a better coupon code than HOLIDAYSURPRISE. There's also an extra 5% with ID.me.
I wouldn't buy their $137 8GB RAM stick, just buy your own and install it yourself.

The PSREF [lenovo.com] shows up to 7.5 hrs using the MobileMark 2018 benchmark so I normally estimate 50% of that for my real world usage, So maybe 4-5 hrs?

It can. The questions and answers section has indicated it can. Directly from the "Lenovo Product Specialist".

I think I saw a Thinkpad nano for a reasonable price on the Lenovo outlet site. That is extremely portable and they are well built PCs. My other favorite is the XPS 13. You can sometimes find really good deals on the Dell outlet site for an XPS if you don't mind a refubished or scratch and dent. But they still might be a bit more than average. All of my refurbs have looked brand new with no real problems.
